Pears

My grandmother sent me 3 pears in the mail and they froze. These pears were sent to her and my grandfather for my grandfathers 88th birthday. These are the best pears I have ever had in my life so my grandmother was nice enough to try and send me some but the weather killed them. I don't have the heart to just toss them in the trash...so I photograph them often and then put them back in my freezer.

I hope we go together

Grandpa's old train yard, these are the only tracks left.

Lately I have been non stop engrossed in my family. I am working on a book about my grandparents that live in Nanty Glo, PA. This place is an old mining and railroad town, my grandfather was an Engineer. Now my grandfather can barely remember his wife, he forgot me a while back, he has Alzheimer's. I am making images of his memories as they slip away, it is my attempt to keep his memories alive. The other factor is that his memories if they were still intact differ from the reality of his town. The town is deteriorating just like my grandparents, they are are visual metaphor for one another.

Eric William Carroll & Tucker Gerrick

I went to this show last night, I left a bit sad, but it was a great show. Eric's photo of a melted candle is wonderful, a great mix of humor and honesty. I have never seen any of his photo photos, and they are really nice...Tuckers love story made me never want to love anyone, so on the way home I broke up with my boyfriend. Not really. The letters from the girl were honest, but now they are a complete lie...oh relationships...See the show!!!
